BLOG TOUR :: Hearts on the Line Series by Nadia Lee

Vengeful in Love
Hearts on the Line, Book 1
Publication Date: December 19, 2013

BLURB:

Revenge is sweet...

Self-made billionaire Alex Damon wants his pound of flesh from the people who ripped his family apart. When he discovers his enemies' daughter is working at his company -- and most likely spying for them -- he decides to start his revenge by seducing her.
Natalie Hall is stunned at the personal interest from the CEO of her company. Vulnerable, with an already bruised heart, she wants to avoid any involvement -- but she can't deny the desire he arouses in her.

...but love is sweeter...

What should've been a straightforward eye-for-an-eye starts to unravel as Natalie's unflinching loyalty and kindness begin to thaw Alex's cold intent. But caring for her is unthinkable...since he plans to use everything in his power to ruin her family and everyone else she holds dear.

Vengeful in Love is one of the best fast-paced books I’ve ever read! It’s highly entertaining and does not have a single dull moment in it!

The plot is vaguely familiar, but it is so well written that anything even remotely similar to it simply pales in comparison. It’s a book that you don’t want to finish, simply because you cannot stand the idea of the ending. You just want it to go on and on…It’s incredible! Its pace is fast, but the characters are finely developed and described in such detail that it rivals full-length novels. It’s also smart and funny, playful and sexy in a romantic sort of way.

There’s not a thing I didn’t love in this book. In fact, when I finished it, I may have screamed out of frustration. Yes it was that good!

What impressed me the most is the incredible writing Nadia Lee showed in this book. The reader usually falls in love with full-length novels, with more drama and romance. But this book just captivates you and the characters are really mesmerizing!

To be honest, I’m a huge fan of this book and I cannot stop praising it!

I loved every single thing about this book!! It serves no purpose to delve into the characters, because they are worth reading without ANY spoilers!!!! Plus, there are only so many ways for me to tell you how much I loved the characters and the book, don’t you thing?!

RECOMMENDATION: You should buy it immediately!!

Publication Date: January 9, 2014

BLURB:

A temporary reunion...

Newly jobless and adrift, former investment banker Kerri Wilson travels to Virginia to see her best friend and regroup, only to run into billionaire playboy Ethan Lloyd. It's been years since she's snuck out of his bed after the most amazing sex of her life, and he's so not her type -- she likes them tall, dark and manageable. But he's too hot to resist, and she succumbs to another sizzling, no-strings-attached (or so she thinks) night.

Unwilling to let her go this time, Ethan makes a simple proposition: a job, a place to stay, and an exclusive affair that will end when either of them finds someone else. But with her dark, painful past catching up to her, Kerri may have to bolt again -- even though her heart is telling her to stay.

And Ethan's not giving her up without fighting to make their "temporary" arrangement something far more permanent...

Long Excerpt:

“You’re not really interested in talking about work, are you?”

“No.”

“So why did you pretend otherwise?”

A hint of humor tugged at the corners of his mouth. “Would you be here if I’d told you the truth?”

“No.”

“There you go.” He gave her an unrepentant grin.

“Devious,” she said, her voice deliberately cool.

He spread his hands. “But hardly criminal. What is criminal is ignoring a smart, sexy woman.”

If he’d shown any sign of mockery or insincerity—even outright flattery—she’d have walked out on him, CEO or not. But somehow the simple way he spoke made her believe he truly found her desirable. His gaze roamed over her as if he could impart the carnality of his presence onto her.

Sudden images of their bodies, naked and panting, raced through her mind, leaving her breathless. Every feminine intuition in her said that if she showed even a tinge of interest, he’d make love to her until she drowned in sensation. A man like him wouldn’t want anything messy like emotional entanglement. Earth-shattering ecstasy was all he promised, all she could ever expect from him.

Well, too bad. Marcus O’Dell had been good in bed, and it just wasn’t enough. She wanted a man who could love her unconditionally and for the long term.

“I don’t do the interoffice dating thing,” she said. “It’s kind of a rule with me. So, although this is really flattering, it’s not going to work out. Maybe you should find another woman who’ll be happy with what you’re offering.”

He regarded her calmly. “I don’t want another woman. And I think it is going to work out.”

“You do?”

“Come on, you feel it. There’s a lot of chemistry going on here.”

True…but still. She gave him her best oh-come-now laugh. “I’m not a teenager anymore. I don’t let my hormones make my decisions for me.”

“Wanna bet?”

Natalie raised an eyebrow. “Do I want to bet?”

“I’ll bet you that you’ll have dinner with me again before the week’s over.”

“And if I do? Then what?”

“Then you lose the bet and owe me a full weekend to change your mind about this ‘no interoffice dating’ rule of yours.”

“What do I get if you lose?”

“Oh, I won’t lose. But if I do, I’ll give you a million dollars.”

Her jaw dropped so fast she was surprised it didn’t hit the table. He couldn’t be serious. A million dollars?

Their food arrived. Although it smelled absolutely tantalizing, her stomach was knotted too tightly to even think about eating. She could already feel the champagne churning dangerously.

The waiter left, and Natalie leaned forward. “You’re joking, right?” she said in a strained whisper.

“About what?” He popped a chunk of steak into his mouth. The chef had taken his instructions seriously. The meat looked like it had barely touched the grill.

“About the bet.”

“Not at all. One with six zeros behind it. Cash or wire, your choice.”

She stared at him. There wasn’t even a trace of humor on his face. Her heartbeat accelerated a little, and she shook her head. “You’re going to lose.”

Sighing, he put a hand over his heart. “You wound me. Would you truly condemn me to eating alone for the next four days?”

“Oh at least that, if not forever.”

A boyishly charming smile lit his face. “Is that so? Then it’s a bet?”

As they gazed across the table, Natalie felt something stirring inside. It was more than just sexual attraction. Her feminine core was flattered that he found her desirable enough to risk a million dollars. And amused by and envious of his unshakable confidence that he could win her over in four days and a weekend.

Marcus’s abrupt ending of their relationship had made her feel undesirable. She hadn’t been able to muster much interest in men since. Not until now.

Would it be so terrible for her to indulge in a flirtation with Alex for a little while?

Her eyes holding his, she picked up her silverware, pushing the fork into her steak and then drawing the knife through it slowly and deliberately. “You’re on.”

BOOK BLITZ :: His Muse by Kemmie Michaels (EXCERPT&GIVEAWAY)

Synopsis:

On vacation in the tropical paradise of St. Lucia...

Martin and Abby never intended to meet anyone while they were away. Circumstance, however, pushes them together in spite of their expectations. With an entire vacation week with nothing to do but spend time together, Martin and Abby forge a connection unlike anything either had felt before. With Abby’s conservative nature and Martin’s refusal to be the player he had once been, the couple keeps themselves physically apart...until they can’t.

They collide into a friction that sparks a blazing need to stay together. Keeping the heat alive from opposite ends of the country, though, may prove too difficult. Distance and circumstance become very ugly words in this couple’s vocabulary.

Excerpt:
“Do I get to see what’s under your robe?” He grinned wickedly as he reached for the belt.
She giggled and turned away. “Not yet! I have to finish my wine first. You should have thought of that before you poured me a glass,” she said laughing wickedly at the look on his face.
Martin groaned and dropped his head back on the couch, but then he got an ornery look on his face. He sat up and guzzled the last of his wine. He took her glass from her and tipped back the remainder of hers, too, sounding a refreshed “ahh” through his smile.
“Hey!” she said, laughing with him.
“Ok. Wine’s not an issue,” he grinned at her. “Show me.”
Still laughing a bit, she stood up and walked across the room from him. He stayed in his spot on the couch and waited for her to drop the robe. Like the seductress that she was, she stood there for a long moment, her makeup subtle-sexy and her beautiful auburn hair in a messy, wavy up-sweep.
She did nothing but look at him with heated eyes. She too-slowly reached for the belt and then stopped. She toyed with the ends of the terry-cloth rope that held the fabric closed around her.
“You know you’re killing me over here, right?” he asked, loving her playful side.
“Well, we can’t have that,” she said, pulling the belt loose but leaving the robe firmly closed around her body. “Are you sure you’re ready for this?”
“I did mention the death part, right?” he said, laughing. “I’m more than ready, Abby. Show me.”
“Can’t say I didn’t warn you…” and with that, she opened the robe and let it fall to the floor. Martin gaped at the sight in front of him. Never in his life, ever, had he seen anything so unbelievably sexy as what he saw in front of him in that moment. He must have inadvertently made a deal with the devil in order to have that in the room with him. She was absolutely, sinfully provocative.
His eyes raked down her body, pausing at every sexy, delicious curve. She wore a deep emerald corset with wickedly erotic black lace trim. The bodice hugged her ribs tightly and tucked her already tiny waist into a perfect hourglass center. The satin flared back out to accent her hips in a way that made him want to worship at her feet.
Then, as if that weren’t enough, the bottom rim of ribbon and lace held black garters that traced sexy lines down to black thigh-highs. Those alluring sheer hose hugged her legs with a lace border that nearly danced around the soft, creamy skin of her thighs. His eyes traveled back up to rest on her full breasts straining against the satin laced up to a bow between them.
The exaggerated curves were even more accented by a wisp of hair that waved down her neck and nestled in her substantial cleavage. He noticed one last detail around her hips. A scant strip of lace served as panties. She obviously put those on over the garters. He could strip them off and leave her in the corset and thigh-highs if he wanted to.
Oh. Sweet. God. He wanted to.
“Damn…” was the only word he could think to say as he walked the length of the room in about four long strides. His hands gripped around her ribs and he could feel the heat of their skin reacting through the satin and ribbings. He jerked her forward that way, her whole body following the constraints of the corset. She fell into him hard and let her hands rest at his chest.
He was no longer laughing with her playfully. Now he was so sexed-out he was ready to throw her down and take her hard. She looked at him with wide, expecting eyes, wanting the same thing. He hoped she was expecting the animal side of him, because that’s exactly where she took him the minute she dropped her robe.
He grabbed her by the hair as he searched her mouth with his desperate tongue. His other hand gripped at her back, bottom and shoulder with the full strength of his desire. She was the only woman to evoke this kind of passion from deep within, and he couldn’t turn it off. He jerked her hair back again to give himself access to her neck.
Author Bio:
I love a good love story. I reread the first kiss a few times before I read on...even in my own books. That moment gets me every time no matter how often I revisit that beautiful connection. I dive into every story to the point where I have so many fictional boyfriends that I can't keep track of them all.
In the world of reality, I have a loving and tolerant husband who smiles and rolls his eyes every time I tell him about my latest fictional love affair. I have two autistic pre-teen boys who keep me on my toes. I have a psychotic Golden Retriever (I was told those don't exist...) and a cat that rules our house. I used to be the queen. Our regal feline has usurped my throne and demoted me to Prime Minister.
I studied English/Journalism at Miami University in Ohio, have a Master's Degree in Secondary Education from the University of Dayton and I spent five years teaching even more personality-rich pre-teens. For some sick reason, I actually enjoyed teaching junior high. Now as a stay-at-home mom, I'm clinging to that status by throwing my hat in the author's ring and hoping I get to keep it there.

Mike’s Way Back is such a great and wonderful book that it makes you reread it, right after you finish it..You just want more of the characters!!

To be honest, it wasn’t what I expected and I both liked and disliked that. No I’m not a crazy whacko-let me explain..I enjoyed the fact that it was different than what I had in mind, because I like being surprised. Mike’s Way Back was much more emotional..It actually focused on the characters’ feelings much more than the actual events. It’s the second book I read that has this approach and I’ve got to say that I really like it. Anyway..We understand our characters and we take every step of the way along with them..It really felt like a team-effort, sort to speak. But what I expected was a confrontation with Taryn’s family, a sort of closure between her and her family. Maybe not solve their problems, but at least a conversation, something. So, in this way I didn’t get my closure I needed as a reader. It may seem a small thing, but it felt pretty big to me.

Generally speaking, Mike’s Way Back is a truly wonderful book with an innocent love story but really hot scenes. The writing was beautiful and I loved the 2 POVs. They were remarkably written. I enjoyed it very much, mainly because it was so fun to read. It was smart and funny, entertaining and sexy, playful and sweet, loving and hot and at the same time very emotional.

>>Taryn is so amazing! She’s sweet and loving, but she’s also ferocious and stubborn and feisty. She’s the perfect combination for a woman. And of course, she’s also the perfect leading female character. She’s a great one..I have nothing else to say rather than I love her!

>>Mike is the very definition of a very good guy. He makes the right decisions, he’s smart and kind and oh so very thoughtful. He has a golden heart that makes him even sexier than he already is..

A perfect leading man for a perfect leading woman!!

In conclusion, I loved Mike’s Way Back!! It was a perfect book to read over the holidays, as well..Sweet and Sexy!! You can’t go wrong by buying and reading this one..I guarantee it!

About the Author:

When asked ‘when do you have time to write’, Amy Gregory simply laughs. The real answer is, “in bits and pieces”. She and her husband live in Kansas City with their three fantastic kids that keep them running in three very different directions. Because she sits so much, she always carries a notebook with her at all times.
She has an off the wall, snarky, off the cuff sense of humor that often shocks even those who’ve known her for years. And she loves that her children have all been blessed that ability to make others laugh as well. At least she’s grateful most of the time! Her husband often teases her about how she “makes this stuff up” when he’s reading a piece of her work. … The answer—“it just comes to me when I’m typing”. Scary thought, huh!

Seventeen-year-old Maddie Davis has spent her whole life on the move. She wants to go home…

Until she meets Blaine Elwood – the stepson of an old family friend.
